Scholarship

A number of scholarships and loans are offered to the deserving candidates as detailed below: 

1.   National Merit Scholarship of about Rs.1140/- per annum based on merit on the state wide ranking with an income limit of Rs.24,000/- per annum.

2.  Government of India Scholarship to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Students whose parent’s income does not exceed Rs.50,000/- per annum the scholarship amount being about Rs.1,500/- per annum for day-scholars and Rs.2, 200/- per annum for hostellers

3.   Adhoc Merit grant of Rs.300/- is given to the students of SC/ST and converts to Christianity from SC/ST over and above all other assistance, concessions and grants to which they are eligible. There is no income limit.

4.  National Foundation for Teacher’s Welfare Scholarships – awarded to the sons/ daughters of working, retried and deceased schoolteachers and the value of scholarship is Rs.500/- per annum.

5.  Scholarship to physically handicapped students by Government of India, when the income of parents or guardians does not exceed Rs.6000/- per annum, amounting to about Rs.500/- annum.

6.  Defense Service Personnel Scholarship to sons and wards of Defense Service Personnel covering all fees.

7.  Educational concessions to children of Government Servants who have died in harness.

8.  Scholarship to sons/wards of Ex-servicemen offered by Secretary, Amalgamated funds, soldier Welfare Board covering all fees.

9.  Administrator General and Official Trustee of Tamilnadu is offering scholarships to poor and bright students, provided they are not in receipt of any financial assistance from any other source.

10. Govt. of Tamilnadu is offering Rs.500/- per annum as State Loan scholarship to students provided their parents annual income falls between Rs.5001/- and Rs.10,000/-.

11. Loyal Textile Mills Ltd., Kovilpatti offers cash award of Rs.1000/- in memory of “Sri Manickavasagam Chettiar to the meritorious textile students.

12.  Sri. “Narayanan Chettiar Trust. Madurai” offers Prizes and Medals to bright students.

13. smt. N. Savitriamma Endowment Trust, Mysore” offers prizes and medals to the outstanding bright students.

14. S.J.Jindal Trust scholarships to poor students bright in studies irrespective of community, the amount being Rs.100/- to 150/- per month.

15. Granting of Scholarships to SC/ST by National Textile Corporation.

16. Free Education Scheme provided by the Government of Tamilnadu for BC/MBC/DNC students of the polytechnic under the following conditions:

a. Salary of the parents should not exceed Rs.25,000/-.

b. No member of the applicant’s family should be a degree or diploma holder.

c. The students applying for this scheme should be the first child in the family to go in for diploma education.
