CIICP
( Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project)
This is a Canada-India project mandated by a MoU between the
Government of Canada and India and Founded by Canadian
International Development agency (CIDA), Canada.
The Southern Operational Plan of CIICP is a partnership between
selected Canadian and Indian institutions to work together and
strengthen the capability of Indian polytechnics. This project
is well under way in three southern states of Kerala, Karnataka
and Tamilnadu. Four polytechnic have been selected from each of
these states for the implementation of the project and
Thiagarajar Polytechnic, Salem is one among them.
The Continuing Education Centre (CIICP), established in our
polytechnic Offers, a wide range of formal and non-formal programmes to meet the needs of industry and the community .The
Continuing Education Centre is already conducting many
programmes in all areas.
Currently the project is managed by State Project Coordination
unit established under Directorate of Technical Education,
Chennai.
Besides these, the center has acquired a variety of latest
software. Computer training is provided on an
individual-terminal basis. The teaching is facilitated by
techniques including Overhead Projectors, Computer/VCR-interfaced with Video-Projection System for live demos and
so on.
